Display Location: There will be a tent outdoors for paintings of local Great Falls plein air scenes in Great Falls Village Centre (outside The Arts of Great Falls at 756 Walker Rd.)
Local Art & Plein Air Painting Tent at ArtFest
Either submit a painting you have of Great Falls or paint in plein air locally during ArtFest on Saturday, May 5th & Sunday, May 6th. Participants are encouraged to paint near the ArtFest locations at Great Falls Grange & Schoolhouse or in Great Falls Village Centre [on the Green and around the shops, also at the Farmer’s Market or Cars & Coffee on Saturday]. Visitors to the event will be asked to vote for their favorite painting. The painting with the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award and a $100 prize.
Submission Details
Artists may submit up to 2 framed and ready-to-be-hung artworks painted in advance in “plein air” (outdoors) without the assistance of photography for a fee of $10 per piece. Up to 2 pieces of art painted on May 5th or 6th may be left unframed on an easel (provided) for display. Requirements for the submissions: two-dimensional medium, up to 22”x 26” framed size. Include a label with the title, artist name, medium, and price. Advanced painted art can be submitted on Friday, May 3, 6-8pm or Saturday, May 4th, 10am-noon. Please email Julie Casso to indicate you will be submitting and what pieces. All art will be available for purchase. Any paintings sold will contribute 10% to ArtFest. A $100 prize will be given to the painting with the most People’s Choice votes over the weekend (must be a minimum of 7 artist paintings submitted for the prize to be awarded). Art pick up is on Sunday, May 5th after the event ends at 5pm or a scheduled time on Monday, May 6th.

About Spring ArtFest
This annual event is a show and sale highlighting Great Falls Studios members both at Great Falls Grange & Schoolhouse and in the working studios in Great Falls Village Centre. ArtFest 2019 will have woodworking and painting demos, kids activities and treats available from Great Falls Creamery. The Plein Air activity will add to the FESTIVAL part of ArtFest.
