Figure Drawing and Painting with Marcia Klioze
10:00 am – 4pm Saturday
Interested in painting or drawing a figure in a landscape? Join Marcia at the gazebo on the greens in Great Falls for a fun day of painting a costumed model. We will have a model posing at the gazebo, weather permitting, on the lovely grounds of The Arts of Great Falls. If the weather isn’t cooperative, then we just move inside and paint with the model in the interior. The concept is the narrative, so it really doesn’t matter if it’s inside or out. We’ll learn to adjust our painting to the ever-changing light and how to use photos as a “tool“ to enhance our skills as painters. Learning to use our time wisely because of the limitations of painting a model, especially outside, is important.
This class is designed for all levels of artists but it’s best if you have some drawing experience. In this workshop, you will gain the knowledge of basic painting and drawing concepts and techniques such as value, color, temperature, composition, and transition, through one-on-one instruction and demonstration. Short demos in oil will be provided throughout the entire process. Students learn to use, value, gesture, and perspective, developing the ability to “see” as artists.
Bring your own lunch and picnic or we can go to the Old Brogue!
