Capturing the beauty of flowers is a wonderful way to connect with the season. Students from across the country and internationally have joined together in this online Zoom course to paint, connect and support each other while exploring floral still-life painting.
This fall’s session is ALL ABOUT THE EDGES with a mix of special lessons on Understanding Edges–
Week 1: the edge types found in a painting. Painting exercise plus compositional study
Week 2: painting the floral still life
Week 3: exercises on the hierarchy of edges and compositional study of second still life
Week 4: painting the second still life
Week 5: refining the painting with glazing
About Elizabeth Floyd
Elizabeth is an artist and teacher living in Alexandria, Virginia with her daughter and husband. She works in the home studio and garden, creating paintings that are firmly rooted in celebrating the seasons of the year.
