$300
Intermediate to Advanced Students
Mondays 9:30 am–12:30 pm | 6 weekly sessions
This class will explore more advanced techniques that benefit from the new development in flexible metals clays. We will practice multiple stone setting techniques, custom bezel construction, and new approaches to follow forms.
We will introduce Apoxie Sculpt* and explore its many uses to embellish metal clay jewelry and create pave designs using rhinestones and embedded objects. We will also introduce Lisa Pavelka’s Magic Gloss * product for use with decorative foils, gold leaf, and glass shards. Experience working with metal clay in a pre-requisite.
* Apoxie® Sculpt is a non-toxic, two-part sculptural epoxy ideal for creating pavé jewelry designs. Combining the sculpting benefits of clay with the adhesive power of epoxy, Apoxie Sculpt epoxy secures Swarovski flat back and chaton crystal rhinestones for sparkling jewelry creations. Also adheres to cabochons, crystals, glass, plastic, metal, wood and more.
*Magic-Glos® is a one-step top coat for sealing and protecting polymer clay and other craft masterpieces. The non-toxic, odor-free dimensional gloss dries crystal clear with direct sunlight or UV light for a waterproof finish. Mix with glitter, dried flowers and other materials to add dimension to designs
Cost is $300 for the class and a $95 materials fee which includes 1 pack of metal clay (25 grams). More metal clay can be purchased in class as needed.
