Painting the Portrait

Join Jill on Sunday afternoons in the winter for portrait painting. This course covers the basic elements of portraiture: composition, mood, gesture, form, structure and features of a clothed model. Instruction in painting will cover features and how to achieve beautiful skin tones. Supply lists are provided through the links below. Model fees are extra, paid directly to the instructor the first day of class.

You are welcome to draw in charcoal. Jill will give a demo for the first part of day one of class.  You’ll be drawing/painting for the second half of that class!

In the case of a winter weather closures, a snow make-up class will be March 12.

Help me hire our models for the class — Know someone who would enjoy sitting for us? Requirements: reliable, open to the experience, able to hold the pose.
