Level II Form Study

COURSE DESCRIPTION
For the young artist who has successfully completed Beginner Drawing and/or who demonstrates a thorough understanding of perspective and proportions, ages 12 – 15.
Students practice their drawing skills in black and white oil on toned canvas pad sheets. Still
life objects are studied in exercises called “form studies”, under a single light source. Casts
from antiquity will also be introduced. The student practices “the art of the start” of the painting
process as well as longer studies. Participants become confident in the handling of paint and
in the articulation of value structure to create depth and atmosphere.

About the Artist Instructor: Our long-time instructor, Michela Mansuino, is an instructor at Studio Incamminati, where she graduated in in 2017, an Atelier for the study of humanist realism in Philadelphia. Her awards are numerous, including two honorable mentions from the Portrait Society of America, first prize in the Strictly Painting Competition, Finalist in the ARC International Salon. Michela continues to teach the Youth Program at The Arts of Great Falls on weekends, bringing classical art instruction to her youth students. website=www.mansuino.com
