with the goal of enhancing Great Falls, Virginia as an artful place.

PRACTICES and METHODS to ACHIEVE OUR MISSION & VISION:

Promote, empower and enable artists of all ages and abilities, and provide

opportunities to grow through art classes, workshops, and lectures.

Promote all of the arts in Great Falls, Virginia, including visual, performance,

music and literature, for the betterment of the community.

Honor individual artists, including student artists, and their works

through awards, display space, and public recognition.

Sublet working studio spaces to artists at affordable cost.

Create an environment where people love to visit, work, relate to others, and learn.

Work collaboratively with other community organizations to achieve the above goals.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Meralee Fredenburgh

AGF Program Management, Marketing, Events, Artist Studios, Outreach & Fundraising

Meralee brings her passion for the arts and expertise in program management to her role at the AGF Foundation, where she oversees art events, outreach initiatives, and fundraising efforts. With a background as a small business owner and over a decade of experience in healthcare consulting and insurance, she blends creativity with strategic leadership. A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Meralee studied art studio and art history, and she continues to draw inspiration from visiting galleries and museums in her free time.

ART SCHOOL DIRECTOR

Mariah P. Sotelino

AGF Art School Classes, Workshops and Summer Camps

Mariah P Sotelino is an illustrator, children’s book author, educator, and nature advocate. Ever since Mariah studied Biological Anthropology at Swarthmore College, she has been interested in the intersection between art and science. Mariah studied scientific illustration at California State University Monterey Bay and completed a Masters in Illustration at Maryland Institute College of Art.
Mariah is passionate about the ancient tradition of botanical illustration and scientific literacy for kids K-12. Mariah is a member of The Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Society of Illustrators, and the National Science Teachers Association.
